Northern Virginia Education, STEM, Schools and Community Business Engagement – at KME

As part of our ongoing commitment to the Northern Virginia community, finding approaches and designing solutions for businesses, education institutes, government agencies and nonprofits to gain significant new online audiences, KME Internet Marketing is very involved in the advancement of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives and school programs throughout the area.  Promoting and helping to advance STEM opportunities for K-12, college students and adults is part of our strategy to help build a STEM-focused undercurrent of workforce development, educational opportunity and business engagement – that altogether supports the Northern Virginia business and research communities into the future.

From our HQ at the George Mason University “Mason Enterprise Center” in Farifax VA, here are some ways we’re involved, beyond our own children being heavily involved in STEM programs and schooling from the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) to the USA Science and Engineering Festival’s X-STEM programs for schools:

  • Kelly is a member of the Loudoun County Joint BOS/School Board Committee Citizen’s Advisory Group – helping shape the future of Loudoun’s STEM initiatives, aligning college, K-12, business and community workforce needs. Kelly also is a volunteer for the TJHSST College Counseling Center, is active with the Fairfax County Association for the Gifted(FCAG), and is a past owner of a Computer Training and Educationcompany for children.
  • Ted is a member of the Loudoun County Economic Development Advisory Commission (EDAC), supporting the County’s Marketing and Business Retention efforts to attract businesses and workforce to the county, aligned with improvements in STEM-related educational opportunities – including the Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) sySTEMic Solutions program. Ted also leads the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s (NVTC.org) Digital Strategy Committee, on behalf of Oracle, and is working to align the Northern Virginia IT Community with strategic planning and IT investment methods that include local IT workforce development and education opportunities, including online course and degree initiatives. Ted’s past Enterprise IT assignments have included work with the US Department of Education, as well as several National Universities.
  • KME Internet Marketing provides online technology and interactive, Internet marketing assistance for many DC & Northern Virginia-based school and educational institutions meeting the STEM challenge, including the Nysmith School for the Gifted and Talented, American University’s Kogod School of Business and Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies.  KME has also provided many local businesses and government agencies with assistance in training and educating their own staff with respect to use of Internet technologies, social media and digital content.
  • KME partners with and supports many STEM-related startups and online education services, including Education Online – Affordable, Online STEM, College, SAT Tutoring Artificial Intelligence Services
  • KME offers digital marketing and technology services to University Communities such as the University of Virginia, through its preferred Supplier Contract UVA1501844.

KME believes that our success in marketing, advertising and promoting Northern Virginia businesses, and therefore the success and growth of these businesses and organizations, is tightly coupled to the ability of this region to attract, retain, educate, train and advance the career potentials of its workforce. This includes the ability of Northern Virginia employers to hire and educate employees in Internet, digital technologies and social media.

It takes a village to create a successful business, and we’re doing our part to invest effort, resources and social capital in an exceptionally-rich and vibrant DC area ecosystem – that includes schools and universities, local governments, local businesses and nonprofits, the marketing and communications (Marcom) industry, plus local communities, students and employees – along with links and assistance from stakeholders around the world.

Talk to us about how we can enhance the online capabilities and presence of your school or educational initiative, providing value and benefits for students, parents, teachers, administrators, business managers and the extended, diverse community they represent.
